Summary

The West River Memorial Park Urban Oasis made great strides this season. Spring boarding off of the great work done last year, this summer we added a nice mix of native trees and shrubs to the urban oasis, erected a deer fence to protect the plantings, and cleared an impressive amount of invasive mugwort within the native planting area and invasive phragmites along the river’s edge. Now there is a clear view of the water!
