Summary
The West River Watershed Coalition saw an empty, weedy spot in West River Memorial Park as an opportunity. In just their first year as a Greenspace group, they transformed the space into a welcoming, beautiful area, building a raised bed with colorful perennials to attract pollinators and people alike, and planting a tree and shrubs around it. From shoveling three yards of topsoil to bringing buckets of water from home, this group really took the initiative. Their vision and dedication brought this project to life, turning what was a largely ignored space into a vibrant entryway, inviting all of the community to enjoy and connect with the park.
