Summary

The Westville Community Nursery School (WCNS) group worked hard this summer to improve and maintain the beautiful Tour Ave streetscape. The past two years were characterized by lots of planting--both trees and perennials--which helped transform and beautify the street. This year the group excelled in their stewardship work and focused on ensuring these existing plants were healthy. In addition to weeding, edging, and mulching, they installed bricks in one of the curb strips. This project was completed in the hopes that it will reduce the muddy and slippery conditions near the entrance to the school throughout the year. The collaborative efforts from the group included both adults and children, making for great community building. During the six meetings of the summer, the group’s patience and adventurous spirit was always admirable.
