Summary

Quarry Park is home to over a century of history, a great diversity of native plants and animals, and a dedicated community of Greenspace volunteers. This group has worked tirelessly to combat invasives, reforest the park with native plants, and highlight the special historical areas and artifacts throughout the trail system. This summer, the group focused on removing burning bush to improve visibility, clearing and widening the trail system, adding more signage that explain the invasive species in the park, and planting native plants to restore the park’s understory. This park provides a beautiful, forested respite in Fair Haven Heights. Thanks to the hard work of this group of tight-knit volunteers, it has both a vibrant past and a bright future.
