Summary
In their first year as a Greenspace group, the leadership at SeeClickFix, a local startup company, launched an inspiring effort to transform the Chapel and State street corridor by planting beautiful shade trees along the sidewalks. Their efforts soon moved away from Chapel and focused on State Street behind the SeeClickFix office. With the help of social media and other outreach efforts they were able to engage 15 volunteers in this highly commercial area of town. They successfully planted 5 trees along State Street and did so with direct local business participation and encouragement. The planting effort was truly community based and has the potential to grow into a much wider circle of volunteers and businesses in the summers to come.
