Summary

This is the 6th year that Shepard and Huntington has been an active Greenspace Group. Their efforts were originally focused on transforming the Shepard and Huntington lot into an serenity garden. After cleaning up the space they created a beautiful corner garden, finalized the cut through path, and painted a dazzling mural on the fence that runs the length of the space. Summer 2014 began with maintenance of the corner garden; however, the group decided to focus the rest of the summer on street-scaping Huntington St. They began with the transformation of two lead remediation projects. The success of these projects was contagious and soon the rest of the street was inspired to improve their own properties. With the help of neighbours, the group revitalized the curb-strips in front of ten houses with a variety of perennials, as well as two trees.
