Summary

The Friends of Dover Beach Park worked diligently this summer and saw success at all of the sites they work at. The Friends of Dover Beach work in three spaces: an urban oasis at the corner of Middletown Ave and Front Street, a fenced in urban oasis on Front Street, and a butterfly garden space along Front street near a playground and splash pad. At the corner urban oasis native perennials were planted and the space recently bloomed beautifully. The fenced urban oasis began covered in weeds, but ended the season as an open and inviting space ripe for future plantings. Finally, the butterfly garden saw a tree and perennials planted by local children who frequent the nearby playground. Each space saw very different types of work, but all accomplished the goal of stewardship, community, and restoration.
