Summary
This was a slow year for Friends of Edgewood Park. The group leader, Semi Semi Dikoko, had the goals of fruit tree staking and maintenance, reclamation of a natural water spring, and possibly - adding signs throughout the park. Personal health struggles prevented Mr. Dikoko from holding regular meetings, events, and from fulfilling all of his goals. The intern worked with other group members to do stewardship of seven fruit trees, and group members met to weed the planting around a gazebo. The biggest event this season was the planting of a Memorial Tree by youth group volunteers led by Shiva Williams. It was a successful and well-attended event where adults, teens, and children planted a tree to commemorate their loved ones who died of violence in New Haven.
