Summary
Friends of Edgewood Park started its season with a recognition from the National Audubon as an Important Bird Area. In a ceremony attended by state and local politicians, the conservation efforts of the Urban Resources Initiative and the Friends of Edgewood Park Park were appreciated and applauded. The Greenspace group worked hard in June planting a memorial tree and weeding around the gazebo and entrances to the Park. Work this year in the Oasis focused primarily on removing invasive plant material around the spring and defining the space more fully with the addition of trees and shrubs along the pathway. The interns from Common Ground High School gained valuable experience as they joined community members in providing water, planting, and removal throughout the month of July.
