Summary
The Friends of Farmington Canal continued to lead a major transformation along the canal trail in their 5th years as a Greenspace group and third year in the Urban Oasis program. Most of the group's activityfor this summer focused on the Urban Oasis-- a major component of the Learning Cooridor. The Urban Oasis was enriched with new plants across the length of the space to add more color to the existing plant diversity. With support from the Parks Dept the poison ivy on the trees were treated. Furthermore, the light project commenced on the site. Through Doreen Abubakar's leadership and commitment, the group moved closer toward its goals to improve the status of the space and the Newhallville neighborhood.
