Summary

The Friends of the Farmington Canal Greenspace and Urban Oasis is an incredibly unique and ever changing place. With the Farmington Canal running right along the Oasis and through the greenspace, there are so many bikers, runners, and walkers who enjoy the beauty of the park. This summer, in an effort to help distinguish the Urban Oasis from the rest of the space, the group worked to install edging and spread over 3 yards of mulch. This helped define all of the plants that have been added over the years, including a witch hazel and beach plum planted this year. The City added new exercise bars, a water fountain, and will be continuing to add to this area in the near future. All of these new developments are helping to transform the space into a vibrant area for the community to gather, learn, and enjoy.
