Summary
The Hallock and Congress Community Greenspace Group continued to beautify Hallock Street and build bond between neighbors by replacing concrete with two beautiful honey locust and kwanzan cherry trees. The group also achieved a longtime goal of beautifying the yard of 71 Hallock Street that had been tested for lead the prior year. The group also puts spades into the ground for the first time at the vacant lot adjacent to 33 Hallock Street planting a small fruiting pear tree in the corner of the lot, and beautified a small garden outside the police substation on the corner. With warm morning coffees and ice-cold water in the afternoons, the Hallock and Congress group chatted its way through a lot of hard work during this hot but successful summer.
