Summary

The Friends of Lenzi Park dedicated many hours to keeping the park beautiful and clean this summer. This colorful square connecting Wooster Square to Grand Avenue is filled with at least 48 varieties of flowers – a list of which Jenny and Jerry made and tied to some of the cherry trees for passersby. Jenny led the efforts of 4 consistent neighborhood volunteers to add 40 perennials to the park, filling out the beds along Jefferson Street and the oak tree pits on St. John Street. Weeding and watering the garden beds throughout the park was no small task this summer. Their efforts paid off for the Annual URI Greenspace Bus Tour which brought over 100 people to Lenzi Park for dinner and celebration in this vibrant space.
