Summary
The Lenzi Park Greenspace group continued to dedicate an admirable number of hours towards maintaining the park. Every workday saw at least three people, and the first workday after Hurricane Isaias, even more volunteers than usual came out to help, a sign of how much people value the park. Jenny and Jerry also put in many hours beyond the Thursday meetings. Jenny ensured the plants received enough water and Jerry worked with a young man from EMERGE to contribute additional stewardship. The group’s work was buoyed by seeing more attendance than in any previous summer. Since the COVID-19 pandemic has forced people to spend more time at home, neighbors had more time to visit the park and appreciate its peaceful atmosphere and well-maintained greenery.
