Summary

Orchard St. Blockwatch group is a dedicated group of volunteers who have turned a vacant lot on their street into a beautiful greenspace for the community. The area is a little refuge of shade and flowers in an otherwise highly urban area. This year the group planted several new perennials throughout the space for a lusher and more complete look. The space has a wide variety of plants, such as roses, day lilies, and hollies, creating quite an impressive garden on the street. The group was also about to spruce up the space by putting a fresh coat of red paint on the picnic tables, which will be used for an end of the summer barbeque. They were also excited about the addition of a new fence along the back of the space, replacing a previously broken one and ultimately helping to further define the space.
