Summary
Since the late 1990s, the Orchard Street Greenspace group has been building a lovely parkette for the neighborhood to enjoy. The group consists of longtime residents with a sustained passion for beautifying their street, guided by the vision of the group leader, Lil’ Mama. This year’s work mostly involved cleaning up the lot and stewardship of existing plantings. Some plantings were replaced and transplanted to other locations. They tilled and mulched the back lot to prepare for artificial turf. Workdays were also an opportunity for the group to gather and celebrate events.
