Summary
City Point is one of URI's longest standing groups. The group had a great year of planting and stewardship in 2011. In previous years, the group created a triangle park at the corner of Sea St. and South Water Street. They also planted perennial beds and trees in Bayview Park at Howard Ave. and 6th Street, and currently steward the beach at the intersection of Howard Ave. and South Water Street. These spaces are important community gathering places; each year, the City Point neighborhood holds a picnic in Triangle Park in June. This season, City Point weeded and mulched Triangle Park and Bayview Park. In addition, they planted 1 street tree and 3 trees within Bayview Park. Two of the park trees are bordering a sewage treatment plant, making that stretch of the park much more appealing and inviting.
