Summary

This is Oyster Point's fourteenth year in the Greenspace Program. This year Triangle Park suffered damage from Hurricane Sandy manifesting in shrubs that could not survive inundation and waves, and grass weeds that took over the planting beds. The group spent the majority of the summer cleaning this damage and replanting with shrubs that can tolerate salt and water. After successfully completing these goals, the group was able to focus their efforts on replacing two trees in Bayview Park. With the devotion of two main group members, Oyster Point Greenspace group actively beautified their neighborhood through stewardship, restoration, and community building.

Other activity

carry-away removal of one dead white pine and one stump in Bayview Park; large debris pick up by Parks Department of plant waste from hurricane damage in Triangle Park
