Summary
Over their many years as a Greenspace group, the Friends of Oyster Point have created a series of stunningly beautiful and tranquil planted spaces, including the “Beach Oasis” by the Pequannock Yacht Club, a “walk through the forest” at Bayview Park, and a series of colorful plantings at Triangle Park. This year, one of the group’s goals was to plant two trees at Bayview to replace dead trees; despite the difficulties posed by rocky soil, we were able to plant two trees in one work session! We also added a few hostas to beautify the Vision Trail at Bayview and one side of the Beach Oasis. We then spent the rest of the summer de-vining, removing invasives, and adding mulch to promote the growth of our existing plantings. We grew closer as a group along the way, always making time to share stories with each other.
