Summary
Quarry Park is home to over a century of history, a great diversity of native plants and animals, and a dedicated community of Greenspace volunteers. This group has worked tirelessly to combat invasives, reforest the park with native plants, and highlight the special historical areas and artifacts throughout the trail system. This summer, the group removed Burning Bush from a large swath of the northern edge of the park, cleared and widened the trail system, planted new native plants on the forest edge, and revealed several boulders that had been obscured by invasive plants. This Greenspace provides a beautiful forested respite in Fair Haven Heights. Thanks to the hard work of this group of tight-knit volunteers, it has both a vibrant past and a bright future.
