Summary
The Quinnipiac River Park greenspace group beautifully met all three goals of URI, environmental restoration, stewardship, and community building. They planted two trees this season and pruned and mulched many trees in the park that had been planted in years past. One of the newly planted trees was a memorial tree for a volunteer’s husband. This tree was a great avenue for community building as it brought new volunteers into the group who are committed for the long term. The group has a strong vision to make the park a more special place that better serves the broader community.
