Summary

Rainbow Park is a wonderful community space with committed leadership. The park creates a welcome reprieve from the heat and noise of downtown New Haven, and it consequently gets ample use by neighbors. Pat, the community leader for the Park’s greenspace program, is remarkably dedicated to stewarding the space, and incredibly welcoming to new participants interested in joining our work days. This season we were able to spruce up the figure eight trail with a new layer of stone dust, make significant headway in removing invasive plants, and also add a bit of color with some additional perennials. Overall the season was very meaningful, and we were often joined by passersby interested in the Park and Greenspace work – it thus was a lovely way to meet neighbors and build community.
