Summary

'Esmeralda' is a jewel of a Greenspace - a beautiful garden standing where an abandoned lot once lay neglected. Now in its ninth year as a Greenspace site, the garden boasts a tightly planted grove of pin oaks, a pair of fragrant lindens, a pear tree, and a zelkova. The garden is also filled with a host of flowering perennials and shrubs, all of which continue to thrive under the careful stewardship of the neighbors. Adeli DeArce, as leader of this Greenspace group, spends hours every week maintaining the garden and its paths - weeding, mulching, watering, and pruning. This year, the group installed a beautiful blue stone entrance to the garden and placed a new sign on top of the gate, announcing the garden's new name: 'Esmeralda.' They also planted several new flowering perennials bringing even more color to the garden and ensuring a display that blooms into the fall.
