Summary

Under the care of its long-time volunteer Mrs. Adeli DeArce, this site continued to strive as a beautiful park and a place where the community could escape the summer heat under its many shade trees. Adeli, who lives right next door to the park, keeps a close watch over it throughout the year, which meant that at the beginning of the season, the park wasn’t overgrown or littered with trash as it is often the case with other community parks. The Explo volunteers helped the core group members by doing the heavy lifting of weeding and mulching, after which the members themselves were able to plant shrubs and perennials, focusing on the ones that have bright colored flowers
