Summary
The Scantlebury Park group joined the program in 2004. Over the past six years, the group has planted a number trees and shrubs, with work primarily completed by a very small core group of members, who have enlisted the help of a rotating group of local youth. Last year the group planted six trees along Webster Street with the help of local youth and hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the park. This year, the group planted four additional trees along Ashmun Street, weeded and mulched the new trees, and weeded and mulched the trees planted last year. The group leader has said that the group only wishes to plant one additional tree in the fall, and would like to become an emeritus group as of next year.
