Summary

Shelton Avenue saw a challenging but also rewarding first year. Amidst uncertainty as to the ultimate fate of the city-owned vacant lot, the neighbors sought to improve the periphery of the site and the curb strip, where our efforts might be least likely to be overwritten by potential future development of the site. Crowning the group’s achievement was the planting of a serviceberry tree in the curb strip, a feat which inspired and excited neighbors of all ages.
