2022 Greenspace Report
Shelton Avenue is a vacant lot that has only joined URI in recent years and is currently transitioning to become a Parks site. The group this summer was small but tight-knit, and they worked throughout the summer to diversify the plantings around the site. This involved adding a variety of flowering perennials to the existing front right side of the lot, opening up space along the left side (by the adjoining apartment), and creating a new “shade flowerbed” in the front left corner with shrubs, grasses, and ferns.
