Summary

In the Shelton Avenue Greenspace’s seventh year, what once was an abandoned lot continued to be restored into a lively and welcoming community space. After weeding, mulching and adding plenty of perennials to the front bed, the Shelton Ave. crew took on an area farther back that was quite overgrown. We were able to plant hostas, hydrangeas and liriope once we freed the spot of a huge amount of slippery elm. Each Tuesday, when Steve, Ms. Pat and a few volunteers from Believe in Me showed they brought energy and enthusiasm that resulted in a lovely final product. One of the greatest pleasures of this site is the constant flow of neighbors that say hi to Steve and Ms. Pat as they walk past, showing how important of a space it is for the community.
