Summary

This group initially started in 2007 to clean up a vacant lot in the heart of Newhallville. After the original group leader moved away in late 2008, the remaining group focused on maintaining the lot. The group was revitalized this year when a new neighbor, Tanya Smith, moved to the neighborhood and shared her energy, enthusiasm, and vision with her new community. The group began by weeding, mulching, and cleaning up the lot, and then expanded into streetscapes on Newhall St. The group planted a beautiful flowering cherry tree, and finished up by planting grass seed and/or flowering perennials in front of 6 homes along Newhall St. The group has great enthusiasm and momentum, and will continue to do great things for their community.
