Summary

The Shepard Street Greenspace group is an emeritus group, yet the group continues to conduct community outreach to attract more participation. The core members of the group are its leader and up to seven 5 to 10-year-olds. The group is committed to stewardship of the lot including pruning, clean-up, weeding, mulching, and replacement plantings to restore the garden. The greenspace provides a spot for curious kids to experience nature on their block. The kids enjoy finding insects under rocks, planting perennials, and keeping the greenspace tidy.
