Summary
Jody’s faithful leadership and Tony’s tireless stewardship made this summer a successful one for the venerable Shepard Street greenspace. Besides a few assorted plantings throughout the space and the curbstrip, the group refreshed the stone dust path, mulched the entire site, and transformed the front of the lot through lots of weeding, pruning, and spreading mulch and pea gravel. The group members frequently work on the space outside of the regularly scheduled workdays as well, which contributed to the amount of work completed this summer. With the addition of a new community garden across the street this summer, this block of Shepard Street continues to be positively impacted by its greenspaces and the steadfast volunteers who maintain them.
