Summary

Over the course of 20 years, Shepard Street Spruel Space has grown from a vacant lot to a charming green space. Two years ago, after the previous leader Ms. Jody moved away, Ms. Kim stepped in and maintained this greenspace, while also adding her own vision to it. Under her leadership, it has transformed into an interactive adventure park, with an obstacle course and QR codes that guide visitors throughout the site. This year, with the help of Inspired Communities’ young adventurers, we installed the QR codes, which feature their own voices to narrate visitors’ journey around Shepard Spruel Space. They also added more colorful plants, mulched, and cleaned the space, truly making it their own. Through their efforts, the site has become a living adventure that everyone in the community is invited to!
