Summary

SoHu rallied over 40 volunteers to plant an impressive 14 trees this year. The group faced another year of construction delays that prevented tree planting on Pearl Street, but used the setback as an opportunity to reach out to more neighbors on Humphrey and Orange Streets. The outreach attracted new volunteers and resulted in new planting opportunities. The season culminated with concrete removal and planting two trees in record time, due in large part to SoHu's many experienced volunteers. SoHu has planted over 80 trees in the past four years, dramatically changing the look of their neighborhood. Visit their website at www.sohunewhaven.org to learn more.
