Summary
Washington Ave. is a new group this summer that did not get started until July. Ultimately, the goal of the group is to rehab a vacant lot property next to 626 Washington Ave. While permissions were not secure to work on the vacant lot site this summer, the group removed concrete from three potential tree pits and succeeded in planting two new street trees over three workdays. These trees have a significant impact on the street because they are the only street trees planted on the block and represent a positive first step towards claiming and maintain ownership of the vacant lot site.
