Summary

In their tenth year as a Greenspace group, Nikki Little and her family have continued to steward and transform the former abandoned lot on Washington Ave. into a beautiful greenspace. Over the years they have filled the space with rose bushes, perennials, and lovely trees, creating a space of respite where one can enjoy some dappled shade in this natural urban escape. This year, with the help of relatives, friends, and neighbors the group has been able to maintain this charming pocket park for the community. The group installed wood edge boards around the garden beds, weeded and mulched, and used different pruning techniques to care for their shrubs and trees. With dedicated leadership, the Little family has helped their community to create a vibrant garden that enhances the neighborhood's beauty and fosters a sense of community pride in the Hill community.
