Summary
In its fifth year, the Barnett-Westville Community Greenspace group continued its energetic work of planting street trees and filling in the urban forest canopy. Through consistent communication with neighbors, group leaders Jessica Feinleib and Abraham Lincoln also ensured that the group's planted trees are carefully stewarded and maintained. The leaders, both seasoned tree planters, are also extremely proactive about identifying planting opportunities and establishing contact with new neighbors. This year's efforts centered around the corner of West Elm and Forest Road, where a cluster of eight plantings served to extend a cohort of trees established in the summer of 2010. These plantings bring the group's total to an impressive 75 trees in five seasons!
