2019 Greenspace Report

The YOW Street Plant Brigade has substantially improved the Beaver Hills neighborhood over the 10 years they have worked to promote community building/engagement, stewardship, and restoration along Young Street, Osborn Avenue, and Whittlesey Avenue. This year, the group worked to maintain planting beds and street trees along Osborn Avenue (between Whalley Avenue and Blake Street) and Young Street (near Osborne Avenue) as they transitioned to emeritus status. They also planted some more perennials and shrubs in beds along Osborne Avenue (cemetery side) before officially becoming emeritus. The group leaders (Chris M. and Susan) also consistently lent their time and energy to Blake Street Pocket Park, contributing to community building and environmental restoration throughout their neighborhood.
