2025 Greenspace Report
This vacant lot turned park is a lively and welcoming space taken care of by its neighbors and guided by incredible leaders Steve and Emily. Workdays in the garden usually featured a core group of dedicated volunteers along with several children who live next door who always brought tremendous energy. Regularly, passersby would stop to talk with the group about the garden and sometimes join in to help our work, a testament to this space's role as a community hub. This summer, the group largely focused on building out their garden path, adding more plants, and taming weeds with extensive mulching. Evenings on Shelton Avenue were always a joyful gathering of the neighborhood, partly fueled by the pizzas provided by the group’s leaders, and the garden keeps looking better and better!
