2024 Greenspace Report

This summer, Friends of East Rock Park (FERP) volunteers worked over 6 alternating weeks on Saturdays from 10 am – 1pm. FERP volunteers accomplished the goals of summer. They worked by stewarding the Trowbridge perennial garden, the native garden along orange street, and the garden near the College Wood signboard. They planted shrubs and perennials, mulched and watered the garden during workdays. One highlight of the summer was the development of the Trowbridge courtyard. They planted shrubs, perennials and spread woodchips in the middle of the courtyard space to control grasses and provide resting place. The group cut knotweed near the bridge and cut back vines and invasives they have been cutting back over time.
